Flow front detection system
Advantages of introduction
Control of V-P transfer timing
Due to variations in the V-P transfer position caused by wear of components such as the screw in the injection molding machine, high-precision V-P transfer control based on measurement data becomes possible by sending a signal to the injection molding machine, using the timing when the resin reaches the flow-front detection sensor as a trigger. This contributes to the stabilization of molded product quality.
Features
The flow-front detection sensor detects the arrival of the resin flow front and outputs a control signal to the injection molding machine or external devices. The flow-front detection sensor, which employs an optical fiber infrared method, achieves a high-speed response of 8 ms, making it suitable for precise control of injection molding machines and external devices.
As a result, it can be utilized for applications such as V-P transfer control of injection molding machines and valve gate open/close control for hot runners, contributing to the stabilization of molded product quality.
Measurement principle
The flow-front detection sensor is equipped with a built-in optical fiber, and when it is installed in the mold, it instantly detects the infrared radiation emitted from the resin at the moment the flowing resin reaches the sensor inside the cavity. Upon detection, an open-collector output signal is generated, and the LED lamp on the detection amplifier lights up simultaneously.
